The Wisconsin Central Railroad will be performing track repairs and maintenance at the CTH K crossing at Bateman in the Town of Lafayette. They will begin work at approximately 7:00 AM on Monday June 30, 2025 and plan to close the crossing by 10:00 AM and re-opened by late afternoon Thursday July 3, 2025 . The crossing will likely be in a gravel condition until they return the following week for the final repairs. Please use caution when using this crossing until they have made their final repairs as it may get rough. The Chippewa County Highway Department and the Town of Lafayette will be setting up a signed detour route using 70th Avenue to 190th St. We will post the next closure dates and times for the final repairs as soon as the railroad provides that information.
