Please note – A traffic switch is scheduled for tomorrow, August 8. The next construction stage will begin utilizing the roundabout for County Road J and 50th Street west of the intersection. 50th Street east of the intersection will remain closed. This will be the final construction stage to remove the temporary County Road J pavement and construct the tie-in for the east leg of the roundabout.

Traffic Impacts:

WIS 29 – Off and on ramps at 50th Avenue closed to September 2025. Single lane closures with a speed limit reduction between County X and County J interchanges.

50th Avenue – Closed between 160th and 171st Streets to September 2025. Closed east of County J intersection to September 2025. Traffic is utilizing the roundabout and new pavement west of the intersection. Access to local residences and businesses will be maintained throughout construction.

County Road J – Shoulder closures between Highway 29 interchange and 51st Avenue. Traffic is utilizing the roundabout.

Work Completed (week of 8/11): Contractor started parapet work, began stripping the bridge deck, continued approach grading work near the bridge, removed temporary asphalt, completed stage 4 roundabout grading work, base aggregate, and storm sewer.

Work Lookahead (week of 8/18): Contractor will complete bridge parapet work, strip the bridge deck using single lane closures on Hwy 29, complete approach grading work near the bridge, and complete stage 4 concrete curb and pavement.
